What is paintless dent repair?

No bondo. No repaint. That is the whole point.

Paintless dent repair works from behind the panel. Using steel rods and an LED reflector board, a technician massages the metal back to its original shape, one pass at a time, until the panel reads straight under light. Your factory paint never gets sanded, filled, or resprayed.

A factory finish is baked on at the assembly plant and can never be perfectly duplicated in a spray booth. Keeping it intact protects your resale value. It is also why PDR costs a fraction of conventional body work and takes hours instead of days.

Came back from the grocery store to a fresh door ding? That is the exact repair Danny has done thousands of times since the early nineties.

The Nationwide Way

Three steps, no surprises. The same routine Danny has run for thirty years.

  1. Send it or show it

Photos through the estimate form, or swing by either shop. You get a real number, free, before anything happens.

  2. Get a straight answer

We tell you whether PDR will fix it completely, partially, or not at all. No upsell, no surprise add-ons later.

  3. Repaired in hours

Most single-panel dents are finished the same day. You inspect the panel under light before you pay.

Before & after: real dent repair results

Before-and-after photos are how you judge any PDR shop. Here are ours: drag the line across the headlight restoration. Same car, same lens, one visit.

Paintless dent repair vs. a body shop repaint

The body shop way

  • Three to five days in the shop, often longer
  • Panel is sanded, filled, and resprayed
  • Factory paint is gone for good
  • Repaint shows up on resale inspections
  • Often costs more than your deductible

The Nationwide Way

  • Hours, usually the same day
  • Metal reshaped from behind the panel
  • Factory finish stays on the car
  • Resale value protected
  • Free estimate before any work starts

Honest caveat: PDR is not for everything. Cracked paint or a stretched panel needs conventional work, and we will tell you that up front.

Thirty years of straightening Southern Maryland

Danny Beers started pulling dents before PDR had a name people recognized. Three decades later the toolkit is bigger and the shop has two locations, but the work is the same: read the panel under light, find the low spots, and bring the metal back without touching the paint.

Paintless dent repair FAQs

The questions we hear most at the counter. Longer answers live on the FAQ page.

How much does paintless dent repair cost?

Small dings start around $50, larger or multiple dents run higher, up to $1,000 or more for severe damage. That is typically 40 to 70 percent less than a conventional body shop repaint. Every job starts with a free estimate, so you know the number before we touch the car.

How long does a repair take?

Most single-panel dents are done in hours, often the same day you drop off. Hail damage across multiple panels takes longer, and we give you a realistic timeline with the estimate.

What dents can PDR fix, and what can’t it?

No, and we will tell you straight. PDR needs the paint intact and the metal not stretched. Cracked paint, deep creases on a body line, or damage on a panel edge may need conventional repair.

Do you work with insurance claims?

Yes. PDR is widely covered for hail and dent claims, and we provide the documentation your adjuster needs. We cannot promise what your policy pays, but we make the process simple.

Does paintless dent removal really work?

Yes. PDR is the method dealerships and insurers themselves rely on for dings, creases, and hail damage. Done right, the panel reads straight under light and there is nothing to repaint, which is why it has been Danny’s specialty for thirty years.

Should I try a DIY dent puller kit first?

We would not. Suction pullers and glue kits work occasionally on large, shallow dents in flat panels, but they often stretch the metal or crack the paint, turning a cheap PDR fix into a body shop job. A free estimate costs you nothing, so have us look first.

Is it worth repairing a door ding or a bent fender?

Almost always. A visible ding can knock far more off your car's trade-in or resale value than the repair costs, and small dents left alone can chip and rust over time. With PDR starting around $50 and the factory paint untouched, the math usually favors fixing it.

Do you repair wheels too?

Yes. Curb rash, bent and cracked alloys, corrosion, and full wheel restoration are all done in-house at both shops.
